La propera edició del Simposi Mundial de Música Coral de la IFCM, tindrà lloc a la magnífica ciutat mediterrània de Barcelona entre el 22 i el 29 de juliol del 2017. Sota el lema “Els Colors de la Pau”, el simposi vol reunir cors d’arreu del món, músics, compositors i editors, per celebrar la diversitat i l’excel·lència artística de la comunitat coral global.
El simposi tindrà com a seu L’Auditori de Barcelona, l’ESMUC i el Museu de la Música, a només 10 minuts del centre històric de la ciutat, ben comunicat amb transport públic. Els diversos espais escollits, ofereixen les millors condicions per acollir les conferències, masterclass, ponències i concerts, però també són espais amb un gran valor històric, artístic i arquitectònic internacionalment reconegut. Els concerts tindran lloc en auditoris i esglésies, espais que ofereixen unes condicions acústiques òptimes segons el tipus de cor i repertori de cada concert. La basílica de Santa Maria del Pi (s.XIV) d’estil gòtic, la Sagrada Família d’Antoni Gaudí o el Palau de la Música Catalana, dos referents internacionals del Modernisme són alguns dels espais escollits.
Durant el Simposi cada vespre es podrà gaudir d’excel·lents concerts en espais immillorables!
The next IFCM WORLD SYMPOSIUM ON CHORAL MUSIC will be in the magnificent city of Barcelona from 22 to 29 July 2017. Under the theme “The Colors of Peace”, the IFCM World Symposium on Choral Music will bring together choirs from all over the world, choral musicians, composers and publishers to share and celebrate diversity and artistic excellence of our global choral community.
The Symposium will take place entirely on the grounds of the Barcelona Auditorium, the ESMUC (Catalonia College of Music) and the Museum of Music, situated in a modern building and only 10 minutes from the centre of Barcelona, connected by metro, bus and tram. We will enjoy the modern facilities that these buildings offer with adequate capacity for delegates to comfortably attend conferences, master classes, lectures and concerts.
Symposium attendees will enjoy a great Mediterranean city, full of history and culture! Barcelona has many emblematic places where concerts will be organised including many churches from the Gothic period. Concerts will be held in the beautiful church of Santa Maria del Pi, built in the 14th century. We will also enjoy concerts in the famous concert hall Palau de la Música Catalana, a jewel of Catalan modernism - a style found in many buildings throughout the city. One of his most representative architects being Antoni Gaudí and his work masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia Basilica, still under construction, that will also host a special concert during the week of the symposium. In these venues, and others around the city, that will show the variety and cultural richness of the city, WSCM11 will organize concerts at night for the Symposium participants and for the city of Barcelona.

El Simposi de Barcelona ja està en marxa. Després de la crida per buscar els millors cors del món, vam tenir la resposta de 146, entre els quals s'escolliran els 22 millors. La crida als conferenciants va superar les nostres expectatives: 165 sol·licituds per només 36 places! Algunes de les sol·licituds inclouen més d'una proposta. "Els Colors de la Pau" és el lema del WSCM11. Els colors simbolitzen la pluralitat de la vida del cant coral en el món. Les múltiples organitzacions corals d'arreu del món, la gran varietat d'estils i característiques de la música coral, els diferents models pedagògics musicals existents, la diversitat de cors, directors, repertori, tallers, conferències, taules rodones i exposicions que tindran lloc durant els Simposi de Barcelona així ho demostren.
The Barcelona Symposium is well under way. After the success of the call for performances (146 choir applications), the call for lectures has also exceeded our expectations with 165 applications, some including several proposals on different subjects. The Colors of Peace is the theme of the next IFCM World Symposium on Choral Music. The ‘colors’ symbolize the pluralism of international choral life. Various choral structures and sounds, educational models, training and management, conducting and composition techniques will be the essence of the concerts, workshops, lectures and roundtables presented during the Symposium.
Del 10 al 15 de novembre el Simposi de Barcelona ha estat present a la World Choral Expo que es va celebrar a Macau, amb un stand propi, per fer promoció del Simposi i de Barcelona en aquesta nova activitat de la IFCM, en la que van participar 82 corals d’arreu del món.
