El lema del Simposi és: “Els colors de la pau”.
Els colors simbolitzen el pluralisme de la vida coral internacional. Diferents estructures, sons, tècniques, que seran l’essència dels concerts, tallers, conferències i taules rodones que es presentaran al Simposi. La música coral juga un paper fonamental en la construcció d’un món de pau, fomentant l’harmonia i el respecte mutu, la solidaritat i la barreja de diferents cultures. Volem contribuir a aquest noble objectiu amb l’expressió més humana de la música: Cantar!
The theme for the Symposium is: “The Colours of Peace”.
The colours symbolise the diversity of international choral life. Different structures, sounds and techniques will be the essence of the concerts, workshops, conferences and round tables presented by the Symposium. Choral music plays a fundamental part in the building of a world at peace, formenting harmony, mutual respect, solidarity and the mix of different cultures. We want to make a contribution to this noble goal through the most human expression of music; Singing!
L’organització del Simposi recau en dos Comitès que treballaran conjuntament però que realitzaran tasques especialitzades.

The organisation of the Symposium falls under two committees:
The Artistic Committee, comprised of Ana Maria Raga (Venezuela), Ko Matsushita (Japan), Junita van Dijk (South Africa) and Philip Brunelle (USA) as representatives of the IFCM, and Xavier Baulies, Raimon Romaní and Josep Vila, as representatives of the FCEC.
The Executive Committee, comprised of Michael J. Anderson (USA), HåkanWickström (Finland) and Rudolf de Beer (South Africa), on behalf of the IFCM, and Montserrat Cadevall, Lluís Gómez and Josep Antonio, on behalf of the FCEC.
L’11è Simposi Mundialde Música Coral tindrà lloc en els espais més representatius de l’escena musical de Barcelona. L’Auditori, és un gran complex musical on a més d’albergar-hi diferents sales de concerts, també hi té la seva seu l’Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) i el Museu de la Música. Dissenyat per Rafael Moneo l’any 1999, es troba en un lloc estratègic de la ciutat per la seva ubicació cèntrica on conflueixen les tres avingudes més grans i amb més afluència de la ciutat (la Diagonal, la Gran Via i la Meridiana), per la seva proximitat al Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, al districte 22@, la Torre Agbar, el mercat dels Encants Nous, el centre comercial de les Glòries i a 15 minuts caminant del casc antic de la ciutat i de la Sagrada Família.
Tot i que el centre de les activitats serà el complex format per L'Auditori i l'ESMUC, també es realitzaran en altres espais com l'auditori de la UPF, l'auditori del CaixaFòrum, el Palau de la Música Catalana i la Basílica de Santa Maria del Pi.
Venues of the Symposium
The 11st World Symposium on Choral Music will be in the most representative venues of the musical life in Barcelona. L'Auditori is a big musical complex with different music halls, the higher music school of Catalonia (ESMUC) and the Museum of Music. Designed by Rafael Moneo in 1999, its located in a strategic place for its central location at the confluence of the three most largest city avenues (the Diagonal, the Gran Via and the Meridiana), for its proximity to the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, the 22@ district, the Agbar Tower, the Encants Nous market, Les Glòries shopping center and finally 15 minutes walk from the Gothic Square and Sagrada Família.
The center of the activities is the complex of L'Auditori/Esmuc. In addition, concerts will be held at venues as emblematic as those of the Palau de la Música Catalana, l’Auditori Caixa Fòrum and the Basílica de Santa Maria del Pi, among others.
